Monday Night Match Play

How does a league night work?

Monday Night Match Play is a 2-person best ball league, scored on net, played Mondays, 7:00 PM tee times, the nine changes week to week.

Your group puts its scores in on a phone as you play, there is no app to download. Results, standings and handicaps update on this page once the week is done.

How are the matchups made?

The schedule is a round robin. Every team plays every other team once, in a set order, before anyone sees the same opponent twice. In a season with fewer weeks than opponents, you play as many of them as there are weeks.

With an odd number of teams, one team has a bye each week and the bye moves around so nobody gets more than their share.

Your opponent for every week is on the Schedule tab. If a team joins after the season starts, the weeks not yet played are redone so they fit in, and anything already played stays as it is.

How is a match scored?

Each hole, your team's best net score goes up against theirs.

Strokes come off the lowest handicap in the match: the low player plays off zero, everyone else gets the difference, given on the hardest holes first.

Points: 1 point for each hole you win, split on a halved hole, and 2 points to the side that wins more holes, split if it is even. Your points from every week add up to the standings.

A team with a bye, or whose opponent does not show, gets half the week's points.

While you play, the match shows live, like 2 UP thru 6.

How do handicaps work?

Everyone starts on the handicap they joined with. After 3 weeks in the league, your handicap comes from your own scores here: the best 3 of your last 5 weeks, at 80%.

It updates itself after every week, and the Players tab shows each player’s number for next week.

What if I can’t make a week?

Tap "Can’t make it?" at the top of this page to let the league know before the night.

If one of your players is out, an alternate or a sub can play in their spot for that week.

Where do I see results?

Standings has the season table. Weekly results has every week. Tap any team or player to see their whole season, week by week.
